Classical Childhood

So.  As I sit here, alternating work between 3 group projects, a paper, and working on reception decorations (Welcome to my life people! ....Kill me.) I've been enjoying my "99 Must-Have Classics: The Planets and other Masterpieces".  In doing so, I've come to realize how many of these songs I remember first hearing as a child....From cartoons and kids shows!  Apparently the 90s were just super classy.  (Which we all knew from Full House.  I mean seriously.  Look at this fashion:

Fo' reals though.  Lets see if you know the same songs as I do!

First up:  "In the Hall of the Mountain King" from Peer Gynt

Also known as:  The Kids WB Commercials!

And there's Habenera from the opera Carmen:

Which of course I learned from Hey Arnold!....good times.

Then there's 'Figaro':

Which any good kid should have learned from Bugs Bunny:

Of course "Ride of the Valkeries" has been in a BAJILLION movies, but just because this scene made me laugh so hard:  Here it is in Rango (Not 90's but oh well.)

There are so many others, but it's late and I REALLY need to get these projects done.  GAH! 18 days left!

Creepy!

Okay, so I should totally be in bed, but I can't sleep.  "Why can't you sleep?"  I hear you all ask inquisitiorially. ('kay so MAYBE that's not a word, and MAYBE you didn't actually ask that.  Shut up.  No one wants to hear what you think anyways.)  Well dear friends, I shall tell you the reason why.

^aaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnddddd this.

Yeah.  Guys, if you're in a creepy, empty house, by yourself, late at night and your life feels like a set-up to a horror movie, DO NOT listen to the Doctor Who soundtracks as you get ready for bed.  Now I feel like I need to watch a Disney movie so I can fall asleep.

(Side note: I never really thought about it before, but Doctor Who is super creepy! ...........Still love it though. The Doctor makes it less scary.  I'm sleeping with my computer open to this picture:

Moving

Hi, my name is Elise Evans, and I am a hoarder. *Hi Elise....*

Okay, no not really.  But sometimes I feel that way! Moving into a new house has made me realize how much CRAP I own! I go through boxes and have to laugh at my thought processess.....processeese? Hm.  It goes like this:
****************************
*Curtain Opens to E sitting on her living room floor, surrounded by towers of boxes and random artifacts strewn about the floor.  Grabbing the nearest box, she upends it into the growing pile of junk and digs in*

E: "What is this crap?  I swear this can't be mine......*picks up what looks to be a tulle skirt* ....Must belong to a sister or old roommate....I should really try to figure out who it belongs to......NAH. DI!!!
*She then tosses the skirt into an overflowing box in the corner*

E: This isn't so bad.....what's next?  *Grabs an old belt that hasn't been worn in about 2 years* Hmm....this belt is so cute, but I don't really wear it.  In fact, I think I haven't worn in since freshman year....I should probably give it to DI.....but what if I suddenly want to wear it?  Maybe right after I donate it, I'll find the PERFECT outfit for it, and then I'll be overcome with the NEED to wear my belt, but I won't be able to because I donated it and then that outfit will be ruined because I gave away that belt!!! It's decided.  I shall keep the belt *Belt is firmly and securely placed in the chosen box of "to keep". *

*E continues to sort until she reaches a pair of shoes*
E:  Oh no.  This is like the belt.  I haven't worn these in a while, so I should give them away.  But what if I need them?  Wait.  If I kept the belt than I really shouldn't keep these shoes.  Only one useless item allowed...not two! *Fetches belt back out of the box* Okay, now which one?  Hmmm....belts break more and no one sees them really, but shoes end up hurting your feet......GAH!  Okay.  Deep breath.  You can choose.  Just get rid of it.  Do it. Pick one you pansy!!!  You are RIDICULOUS WOMAN!!! You'll probably never wear them anyways, etc. etc. etc. *After several minutes of this, E is huddled in a ball (fetal style) and muttering to herself insanely*

FIN
***********************************

Pretty much, nothing good comes from me sorting things.  I usually spiral into such a cycle of self-hate and inner turmoil that I give everything away to thrift stores.  This is something I then usually regret because by that point I get rid of things that I really would wear/need within a couple of days.  *le sigh*

ANYWAYS.  I'm not crazy, I swear.  :)  So the whole point of me cleaning is this:  I've moved into my new house!  The issue?  This is the only closet in the whole house.

For me AND Ben.  If you've seen my clothing collection, you know this is no good.  Boo.  Oh well.  The rest of the house is turning out okay.  :)

Obsession...Seriously.

Hi guys.  Can I confess something that I am currently obsessing/fantasizing about to you? (and NO, it has nothing to do with the wedding/any of that...stuffs.  Calmez vous. (for you uncultured, non-frenchified peeps, that means calm yourself.))

No, indeed.  What I am currently unable to avoid thinking about is this:

Pinned Image
Oh my hannah....it's beautiful.
I want to live in New England so badly.  Why? I have NO idea. I just do. Don't question the crazed bride-to-be.....It doesn't need to make sense.  I can just picture me and my hubby-to-be with our eventual children living here, and then one day all the pets that ran off to find us while we were moving will coming bounding over the hill to cries of delight and beautiful scoring. *le sigh*

(Okay....I may have watched Homeward Bound too many times this month.)

2 months!!

Holy cow people, we are down to two months!!!  That is sheer insanity.
